Carloforte, is the only Isola di San Pietro's village, located in the Province of Carbonia-Iglesias. During the summer it is one of the most popular destinations for those who want to stay in Sardinia. Between its peculiarities we can remember the Genoese dialect, which was imported by the Ligurian coral fishermen (most of them were from Pegli) who after having lived for long time in an island in front of Tabarca (Tunisia), found a place more peaceful for their trade under cover of the pirate incursions.
