The cult in the region of the Baronìe

Santa Maria del Mare: Orosei keeps preserving the May antique tradition of the procession along the Cedrino river, to celebrate the Madonna in a jubilation of flowers and colors. The simulacrum is transported on a boat, while the faithfuls follow numerous on other boats generally used for fishing: the procession terminates in the little church dedicated to the Virgin, next to the Cedrino mouth.

Nostra Signora del Rimedio: the 8th of September is another important date for Orosei, that remembers the Madonna of the Remedy with a long parenthesis of festivity, to which all the town families participate. Thousand of people gather around in the sanctuary dedicated to the Virgin, and many find hospitality in the “cumbessias”, small houses constructed between the XVIII and XIX to host pilgrims from far abroad.

Madonna del Soccorso (of the Aid): it is the festivity that, on the first Sunday of April animates the historical center of Posada. Numerous tourists join the faithfuls of the town in this religious events, one of most felt in the zone.

Saint Giovanni Forestiero: at the end of June, in the Onifai countryside, many believers and tourists populate the little church of the Saint Giovanni Forestiero, on occasion of the festivity dedicated to the Saint who, in the local dialect is said Santu Juanne Istranzu.
