
Casteldoria lake and the near thermal baths already known by the Romans
The lake of Casteldoria (Anglona) is an artificial basin and on its shores it is possible to lie in wait to admire different animals species, mainly the numerous birds that nest there. The lake is fed by the waters of the river Coghinas. On the mouth of the Monte Ruiu’s gorge, toward the sea, you could visit the Casteldoria thermal baths, where its springs gush a water reaching even 70°C of temperature, which proprieties were already known by the Romans passing through the Anglona.
In the same region, on the gorge of Badde Traes (Martis territory), it is possible to admire the Triulintas waterfall that long time ago fed a mill of which nowadays there are only few remains.
In Triulintas locality in particular the gorge difference of level reaches 15 metres. In correspondence with the confluence of Pontisella stream into Masino stream originates the homonym waterfall which waters flow into a lake down to the plain where you could watch many spices of birds.
