Fontanamare (Gonnesa, province of Carbonia-Iglesias)
The wide beach of Fontanamare overlooks the Gulf of Gonnesa.The sandy shore is characterized by sand grains mixed to fine sand, surrounded by reefs and an old mining port ruins. In the coastline there are dunes covered by a luxuriant vegetation.The shallowness of the water near the shore make Fontanamare an ideal place for children. In windy days it is an ideal place for surfers too.
How to reach the beach
Leaving Iglesias take the road to Gonnesa, before arriving to the village, turn on the right to go to Fontanamare. After 4 km you can find the beach.
