Punta Molentis Beach (Villasimius, province of Cagliari)

Punta Molentis beach is situated in Villasimius. Its name comes from the donkey (su molenti, in Sardinian dialect) employed for the extraction of granite which this place is rich. It is characterized by shining white sand. Behind the sandy shore there is a hill (101 metres), where there are ruins of a nuraghe. The coastline is surrounded by rocks that reach 15 metres.The view is amazing: a crystal clear water and a green luxuriant Mediterranean vegetation. It has been added in the protected sea area of Capo Carbonara.

 

How to reach the beach

From Costa Rei take the panoramic road that brings to Villasimius,then follow the road signs.

Services are not provided. For people who search peace and quiet, the beach is a perfect setting, actually is almost completely deserted. In spite of its quiet, nearby there is a restaurant where you can eat a delicious fresh fish. It is possible to rent boats. Finally it is a good place for scuba diving.
