Cala Murtas (Villaputzu, province of Cagliari)

Cala Murtas beach is also called beach of Quirra, situated in Villaputzu. It is characterized by low sandy dunes and it is almost 6 kilometres long. Behind the sandy shore there is the Tower of Murtas and the ponds where the typical fauna lives. Just in front of the beach there is the little island of Quirra, surrounded by a crystal clear blue water. The shallowness of the water let children play peacefully on the shore. The beach is not always possible to visit because it is a military area. It is a ideal place for surfing and scuba diving.
