The obsidian of Pau from the volcanoes' antique activity
It is not really appropriate to consider the obsidian as a stone. However, this ancient siliceous glass originated from the eruptive activity of antique volcanoes, has constituted an optimal solid but ductile material even for the Nuragic populations, that used it to make the points of their harrows and lances.
In the Obsidian Civic Museum of Pau, it is possible to admire also sculptures and other objects made out of this material. Moreover, in the locality of Sennisceddu, it is possible to follow the Obsidian Path inside the forest, where it is easy to find fragments of the black laval glass.
