Leather working and the horse culture

The horse is one of the animals, that from centuries characterizes the agro pastoral culture of Sardinia, especially the inner areas: it was employed as a mean of transport and also to work in the fields. The region of Montiferru, for example, boasts a great tradition into the zootechnics sector. Consequently, it is not surprising that the leather goods produced in this territory are really demanded for their quality.

Santu Lussurgiu is one of the best places in Sardinia: saddles, tackle and jambs for the knights are among the most demanded items, beyond collar for oxen games, bags and rucksacks, belts and cartridge-belts for hunters.
