The pibionis technique to manufacture the fabric of Sardara

In Campidano are usually used the horizontal looms, even if with different techniques. The craftsmen of Sardara are esteemed either for the carpets with the pibìonis technique (in grains similar to grape), recently rediscovered by the domestic market, or for blankets in wool, cotton or linen.

In Settimo San Pietro, the tradition of carpet weaving has been passed down from generation to generation. Today it is possible to admire them in the old “case campidanesi” (typical houses of Campidano).
