The Sardinian granite, one of the most wanted stones

The whole Sardinia still keeps the beautiful proofs of working in the stone from prehistory till today: from the megalithic monuments which emerge everywhere to the statuettes representing deities, from the graves of giants to the holy pits, from the temples to the churches, until the examples of our latest sculptors' works.

During the last century, the granite working has widely affected the economy of some areas of Sardinia, Gallura in particularly. Nowadays, because of the competition of other countries (above all China, where the price of labour is cheaper than in Italy) the sector of Sardinian granite is going through a bad patch. But the quality of this stone is very high.
