In Laconi the widest limestone plateau in Sardinia

At the beginning Sarcidano was one of the richest zones in forests of Sardinia, today partially consumed because of the summery fires. In Laconi we find the widest limestone plateau of Sardinia (nearly 200 square kilometers). The unmistakeable yellowish colour of its cliffs is one of the main characteristics of this territory, in which have been uncovered numerous fossils. It is worth a visit the Parco Naturale Aymerich di Laconi (the Aymerich Natural Park of Laconi), 22 hectares full of water flows, in which it is possible to enjoy the shadow of centuries old trees.

Orroli owes its name to the downy oaks forests (in Sardinian it is called orroli) that characterizes the locality of Su Monti, from which it is possible to admire the lakes of the Flumendosa and the Mulargia.

The Parco di Fontana Is Arinus (Park of Funtana Is Arinus )in Nurallao is well worth a visit. Rich in oaks, evergreen oaks and corks, it is also possible to admire some waterfalls. The Park hosts also some festivals that attract numerous tourists.
