In Benetutti the Aurora thermal baths well-known to the Romans
The territory of Benetutti (Acuto-Goceano Mount) boasts the most important thermal baths in center-north Sardinia. In the locality of San Saturnino, near the confluence of the rio Mannu into the Tirso river, there are the Aurora thermal baths: they were known also in antiquity (the Roman called them Aquae Lesitanae: the ruins of a thermal station dating back to the I century A.D. are present inside one of the two modern systems, that attracts thousands of people every year) for their curative properties. From centuries the water pools surrounded by the vegetation (the temperature oscillates between 34 and 43 degrees) are fed by underground veins.
