In Montiferru the seven springs of San Leonardo
In the whole Montiferru the most famous springs are those that give the name to the locality of San Leonardo di Siete Fuentes, a few kilometers higher than Santu Lussurgiu. On the west-side of the Monte Ferru, in the hearth of an evergreen and durmast oaks wood, the seven fountains attract dozens thousand tourists because of the water that flows out from them all year round: it seems it has an important diuretic power.
In the area of Santu Lussurgiu it is possible to admire some other springs. Very beautiful are even the waterfalls, which form along some flows of water fed all year round: we remember “S' Istrampu de sos molinos” (the waterfall of the mills, which were at work until the Seventies) located on the road between Santu Lussurgiu and Bonarcado and made fascinating even by the thick vegetation grown in the bottom of a “forra” (that means water gap).
