Sadali, Is Janas and Su Stampu between evergreen oaks and durmast oaks
In the nineteenth century, in Barbagia of Seulo, more specifically in the area of Sadali, were discovered the caves of Is Janas. Only during the last century was put an end to the rape of concretions (stalactites, stalagmites and columns) blocking the entrance with a gate. Is Janas takes its name from a legend according to which this cave (with six different rooms, five of these visitable) was once occupied by the “janas”, very touchy fairies, who transformed in witches and meted out a punishment to the poor wretch on duty. In thousands years, three concretions inside the third room have taken the form of as many witches.
Su Stampu 'e Su Turnu: from a large hole in the rock flows out the water, which intersects the whole mountain in Barbagia of Seulo (in the area of Sadali) and nourishes a little lake and a torrent, where during the wintertime, little trouts bred in the village reproduce.
