
From Dorgali coast side to the top of Gennargentu all the beuties of the province of Nuoro
The Nuoro region it is bounded by the Goceano-Monte Acuto on the North, by the Marghine area on the West, by the Barbagie on the South, by the Orosei'gulf on the East and by the Baronie on the North-East. It is a mostly mountainous area where in winter it often snows over 700mts. Mont Corrasi (1.463 mts) which stands out in Oliena , is the highest rocky calcareous complex of Sardinia.
The Tirso is certainly the most important river of the island, nevertheless is the Cedrino river , which passing through the area of Nuoro with some many other smaller rivers, represents a very important source of water. Mont Ortobene (955 mts) dominates the city of Nuoro, from which the province has been named after.
The area of Nuoro boasts not only a beautiful inland but an enchanting coast side as well, so that of the Orosei's gulf in Dorgali with the fascinating Cala Luna. Some interesting places to visit are: the casa-ovile ("fold-house") Sa Conca, set under an imposing granitic rock on the Mont Ortobene and the Sa Radichina spring nearby.
