The Malvasia, pride of Bosa and dowry of Bizantines
The Malvasia is a white species of wine diffuses in all Mediterranean area and very famous since from the old Greek gold period. In Sardinia it was probably imported by the Bizantines and Cagliari Cagliari has been one of the most conditioned centre from that domination. Very appreciated is the amber-coloured D.O.C. Malvasia of Bosa, whose species of vine are selectioned since generations and which is characterized by an unmistakable intense aroma. Some farms which produce it are: the Cantina sociale Planargia di Flussìo, cantine Picciau (Cagliari-Pirri), Cantine Meloni (Selargius) and the Cantine Riunite di Dolianova.
