From the Aragonese rule the Bovale's heritage
There are 2 kind of Bovale wine, a red species of wine imported from Spain during the Aragonese rule in the areas of the Nurra and of the "Giudicato of Torres" (Sassarese-Romangia and a part of the Logudoro-Meilogu): the sardinian Bovale and the spanish Bovale. Some species of grapes differentiates the sardinian Bovale to the spanish one. It is usually mixed to other wines, as for exemple the Cannonau and the Monica and is farmed in almost Sardinia. The Bovale of Spain is also known with the name of Nieddèra.
