The Gattò, a French name for a crunchy Sardinian sweet
Gattò: is a crunchy sweet made of almonds, which is widespread all over Sardinia. After coating it with sugar, when it is still warm, add chopped rinds of two lemons and boiled and peeled almonds. On a not adherent surface (in the past used to be of marble, ideal for this working) sprinkled with olive oil, pour the amalgam and let it cool. Then, break it into pieces, make small portions that can be served on washed leaves of lemon. Some people prepare the Gattò using pine nuts instead of almonds.
