Senorbě
Senorbì is the most important town of Trexenta. We suggest you to visit Santa Barbarachurch (XVII century), that boasts the highest bell tower of this region (32 meters) and a beautiful cross of Giuseppe Antonio Lonis, a seventeenth century sculptor. At the periphery of the town, you will find the little rustic church of Santa Mariedda (XIV century): on the 5th of August, just before sunset, from the town leaves a procession leading to the church. Another event to point out among the local festivals is the festivity of Sant' Isidoro: on the 15th of May, the farmer patron is celebrated, with an adorned-tractors parade along the town’s roads. On this circumstance, it is possible to admire tapestries and other locally handmade products. At the ethnographic archaeological Museum of Sa Domu Nosta, host in a beautiful private house of the 1800, objects are exposed from the late Neolithic to the Middle Ages, among which the finds from the diggings of Monte Luna (Moon Mount) necropolis, where can be seen several kinds of tombs (at well at hole) dug into the limestone rock and in the tuff. These go back to the period between the V and III century B.C. (the Sardinian-Punic inhabitants of the zone of Santu Teru were buried here), but they were also used in successive ages, as it is testified by some finds attributed to the roman domination. In Turriga locality, instead, there are the rests of a Nuragic village in which the famous sculpture entitled Mediterranean Mater was found. This is visible at the National the Archaeological Museum in Cagliari.
