Orroli
The name of Orroli derived from a downy oak wood (due to the fact that in Sardinian language this type of plant is called "orroli") characteristic of Su Mounti locality, from which it is possible to admire the lakes of Flumendosa and Mulargia. It is a town of the Sarcidano famous mostly for the magnificent Arrùbiu nuraghe (a fortress of about 3000 meters squared) and for the near nuragic village of Su Putzu. These nuraghs were both built on strategic positions, nearby the Flumendosa. The remains of about hundred huts are still well visible around the Arrubiu nuragh area. During the Roman domination, on top of the tower there were specif rooms for tamping the local grape (this has been elicited from the findings of a press of base in basalt and wine amphorae) and other agriculture products: from the finding it can be guessed that theses spaces have been uses by the local population at least until the V century A.D. The necropolis of Su Monti is also interesting
The Vargiu's house-museum, known with the name of OmuAxiu, was constructed at the beginning of 1800, but it is still in good conditions. It represents the Sardinia of two centuries ago and the popular traditions of the Sarcidano. Rooms and tools describe the bread hand-making process, working in fields, the eating-and-drinking and fabric.
On the first Sunday of June, a believers procession departs from the parish following the simulacrum of Santa Caterina d’Alessandria to the rustic church, in the proximity of the Arrubiu nuragh. Horsemen and adorned wagons follow the parade. The celebration lasts three days.
