At thousand meters of altitude, the nuraghs of Perd' and Balla, Urcèni and Serbìssi (Osìni territory) enabled the local populations to control the passage of eventual enemies in the surrounding valleys, dominated by the Punta Perde Lìana. The Serbìssi nuragh was built over a wide cave that was used as grain and food storage; in case of rain, it was utilized as a shelter for the cattle. The site consists of two towers and a huts village. In order to arrive to Serbìssi and Urcèni nuraghs, you have to leave the town behind you, pass through the strait of Tacco di San Giorgio, and via Tacco di Osìni. This is one of the most well-known cave in Sardinia with an abundance of stalagmites, stalactites, and giant rooms. We suggested you to wear appropriate clothes, as the average temperature inside Su Marmuri is quite inferior respect to the one of the other caves in Sardinia. The zone of Ulassai is characterized by the imposing waterfalls of Lequarci (100 meters height) and Lecorci. This locality is also famous for the old public washhouse, which was transformed into a kind of monument to the women thanks to the ability of Maria Lai , one of most famous Sardinian artists. At that point, until few decades ago, the town's women gathered to wash clothes and linen, chatting in the meantime.
