Baunei
Wild and beautiful. The territory of Baunei is fascinating because it offers thousand of opportunities: sea and mountain, sun and cool walks, the contrast between blue and green. There are numerous caves, the majority of which can be explored only via sea. Among these we point out the cave of the Fico, reachable by boats from Santa Maria Navarrese. Some spires of the rock make us think to the landscapes described by Dante Alighieri in the Hell of the Divine Comedy. Up until some decades ago, the monk seal used to live here, today an endangered specie nevertheless the presumed sights recorded in the last years. Many sea resorts are not easly accessible from the land, thanks to this characteristic the wild beauty has maintained intact: it is the case of Mariolu Cove, Cove Sisine and Goloritzè, as to mention the most famous examples. Not far from Cala Sisine, it is worth visiting the cave of Su Meraculu, in which it possible to take a long walk along the uncontaminated nature in the surrounding woods.
