In Montiferru the most famous spring are those that give the name to the locality of San Leonardo de Siete Fuentes (Seven Springs), at few kilometres down the mount of Santu Lussurgiu. On the Monte Ferru oriental slope, in the heart of a holm-oaks and oaks wood, the seven springs attract thousand of tourists also in virtue of the water that gushes out all year round, which seems to have an important diuretic power. In the territory of Santu Lussurgiu it is also possible to admire other springs. In the medieval village of San Leonardo is located the homonym Romanesque-gothic church (XII century). A part of this structure has been refurbished in successive ages, using dark trachyte which abound in the territory. Next to the entrance is exposed the cross of the Knights of Saint Giovanni from Gerusalemme, order to which the church of Saint Leonardo belonged. Immediately after the church there is a hospital, which was completely destroyed, famous to have accommodated “Guelfo della Gherardesca”, son of count Ugolino (who died there in 1295). The village was evacuated after a serious epidemic plague: the population moved some kilometres downhill, founding the village that successively became the actual town of Santu Lussurgiu.
Spectaculars are the cascades that stop along some water course fed all year round, as those called "S' Istrampu de sos molinos" (the mills’ cascade ), on the road between Santu Lussurgiu and Bonàrcado.
