Places to visit in the territory of Cuglieri

In the territory of Cuglieri, not far from Santa Caterina di Pittinuri, it is possible to see the few ruins of the Punic city of Cornus, among which there are numerous tombs and an area destined to the rituals of the Christian cult. In the zone of Santa Caterina di Pittinuri, surfers gather all year round. In its proximity there is S' Archittuin, a locality that takes the name from the characteristic limestone arc on the sea.

In the surrounding area, there are numerous nuraghs such as those quadrilobate of Oragiana and Orakeris and those tribolate called Nuraghe Maggiore, Oratanda and Nurgheddonis. In the localities of Pittudi, Serruggiu and Fanne Massa, instead are scattered numerous “Domus de Janas” (Houses of the Fairies) going back to the third millennium A.D.: in their inside have been found several funerary objects and equipments, guarded in the Antiquarium of Cuglieri.
