Sedilo
In the recent years Sedilo has been trying to harmonize the historical centre with modern architectonic lines into the new part of the town. However, there is no doubt that the old monuments are the main visitor attractions. Above them all, the sanctuary of San Costantino Emperor, erected in the XIII century A.D. and reconstructed several times. Around the church, destination of numerous pilgrims, on the 6th and 7th July takes place the spectacular Ardia following a tradition that boasts at least 400 years: the event, between the sacred and profane, remembers the Victory of Costantino against his foe Massenzio in the battle of Ponte Milvio (312 A.D.). The Ardia reaches its most intense point with a horse ride along the valley dominated from the sanctuary (called Santu Antine in the local dialect ). The leading horse, called "pandèla matzòre", starts the race leaving unexpectedly from the cape over the church: galloping quickly down to the slop in direction of the narrow Arc of Costantino. The other knights chase him the to then catching up behind the church.
