Sadali
Sadali is a town in Barbagie, that is making its historic centre very pretty. Ancient dwellings have been refurcbishe and adapted to be used as “albergo diffuso” or as cultural centres. In the Presbyterian area of Saint Valentino church (V-VI century A.C.) we find “tombe a camera” graves with skeletons and a furnace of Roman age. Not far from the church of San Valentino, there is a watermill fed by a waterfall that flows even in the hottest and dry summer months, thanks to numerous springs and also to the snow from the surrounding months. During the winter, when it snows, Sadali looks like a crèche and its atmosphere seems even more romantic. Sa domu de tzia Cramela (the house of aunt Carmela), is also very interesting. It is basically a local activities Museum, created in one of the oldest house of the historic centre.
In the wood of Sadali there are some caves, in which prehistoric tribes used to live, as the findings discovered in the last century testify. The main one is Is Janas, with its stalactite and stalagmite formations. At half hour walk, between oaks and durmasts, you can admire Su Stampu ' and Turnu, where the water gushes out from the rock like a waterfall, arriving from 200 meters mount. Sadali is one of those town connected by the Trenino Verde (literally, little green train) celebrates San Valentine’s day three times a year: in those occasions numerous tourists invade the town.
