Deledda and Satta, nuoresi original names of two illustrious writers
Paradoxically to the violence of the 1700's and of the XIX century, Nùoro has managed to oppose a great cultural ferment. This city has given birth to two of the most important Sardinian writers. One of them is Grazia Deledda, born in 1871 and died in 1936, ten years after receiving the Nobel Prize for Literature. The “Parco Letterario Deleddiano”, which is also part of other Sardinian centers (for example Galtellì) has been realized in her honor.
The other important name is Sebastiano Satta (1867-1914), really good writer, one of the best cultural expressions ever expressed from our land.
