Su Connottu, the Nuorese revolt against Savoy

“Su Connottu”, the1868 revolt in which the Nuorese population rose up against the “Editto delle Chiudende”, showed the Savoy favouritism in the renter class versus the penalization of the shepherds and small peasants, who used to the exploit the communal property, before the privatisation.

The Municipal Archives was burnt and together with the documents held there, even the efforts to approach local populations to the institutions were destroyed by the fire.
