Castelsardo, the works of the Master in the crypt of the cathedral

In Castelsardo, in the crypt of the Cathedral of Sant’Antonio Abate, it is possible to visit the Museo dell’Arte Sacra (Sacred Art Museum), enriched by the works of the anonymous artist known with the appellative of Master of Castelsardo. In the same town we suggest visiting the "Museo dell'intreccio mediterraneo" (the Mediterranean Basketwork Museum), obtained from some rooms of the castle, where the water plants working techniques practised in the Mediterranean countries are compared. Wide is also the exhibition of artefacts employed in the fields of fishing, farming and sheep farming, or in the domestic activities.

The Museo Archeologico and Paleobotanico is one of the many reasons of interest that lead to Pèrfugas, locality found in an area rich in ancient sites. There are fossils of petrified forests and artifacts in stone of the Paleolithic, but also findings of the Nuraghic and Medieval periods.
