Cittadella dei Musei, in Cagliari the waxworks of Clemente Susini
Cagliari offers many visit opportunities from the cultural point of view. One of this is the medieval quarter of Castello: by the entrance of Porta Cristina, in front of the Torre di San Pancrazio (San Pancrazio tower), it is possible to visit the Cittadella dei Musei, in which in 1993 was transferred the National Archaeological Museum (the area was assigned to military arsenal until 1825); it hosts also the National Pinachoteca, the nineteenth-century collection of anatomical waxworks of the Florentine sculptor Clemente Susini and the Museo d’arte Siamese “Cardu” (Siamese Art Museum – with 1300pieces).
The ExMà is worth a visit, the complex of the ex communal slaughterhouse, built in the city-center during the nineteenth century, hosts musical and cultural shows.
