San Nicola di Quirra protects Sarrabus since the XII century
Nearby the ruins of the medieval castle of Quirra, in the territory of Villaputzu, not distant from the State road 125 (the so-called Orientale Sarda), you can visit the church of San Nicola di Quirra, the only case in Sardinia of Romanesque building entirely constructed in burnt bricks (in other churches this material has been mixed with other stones). Unfortunately the lack of official documentation forces us to assume that the construction of San Nicola di Quirra took place in the second half of the XII century.
Goni: interesting for the visitors the Romanesque church of San Basilio, beside which there are the ruins of the Roman thermal baths (looks at Sources and Spas).
