In San Giovanni of Sinis a byzantine basilica of the VI century A.D.

In San Giovanni of Sinis, beside the carriageway that crosses the village, there is a byzantine basilica of the VI century A.D.,which has been partially ruined by some events that came one after the other during the passing of time (as for example the incursions of the Saracens, at the beginning of the IX century).

For a long period this church was even abandoned: in fact it has been recovered after the diggings of a sand heap. With the basilica of San Saturnino (Cagliari) it is certainly the most interesting example of early Christian structure in Sardinia. The current features are owed to the works carried out between the IX-XI centuries.
