The stazzi of Gallura: the simplicity of shepherds and peasants
Beside its sea beauty and its granites, Gallura is also famous for its "stazzi" (folds): they are small country houses, in which lodged shepherds and peasants who, with their simplicity, were able to endow themselves with all that they needed to be self-sufficient, including the pasturage for the cattle.
Today the folds are often used in order to offer hospitality to tourists who want to live an different experience, in close contact with nature and the most genuine traditions. Engedras by Sardegne will offer you accommodations in some folds transformed into farm houses.
