In Gremanu the only known nuraghic aqueduct
In the territory of Fonni there are remains of the complex of Gremanu: it is a village of huts and sacred nuraghic buildings (probably dedicated to the water cult), inside a large fence called Tèmenos. Very interesting is the megaron temple. Not far, nearby a source, there are three pits connected by a system of raceways dug in the rock, which allowed the collection of rainwater upriver and to carry it toward the village, located downhill: it is the only example of nuraghic aqueduct uncovered until now in Sardinia. In the site of Gremanu you find also a nuragh and a rectangular basin provided with a paved floor (it goes back to the period between 1300 and 900 B.C.).
