Gallura, a territory rich in surprises
If you go through Olbia, we suggest you a visit to the nuraghic complex of Cabu Abbas, where you can admire a circular room tower and a central pit in which were uncovered many findings. The nuragh is encircled by a large wall.
In Santa Teresa di Gallura, in locality Lu Brandali, don’t miss the visit at the homonym nuraghic village where you find remains of numerous huts.
Near Cannigione there is the atypical nuragh Albucciu, which developed mostly in horizontal: a scale allows to gain access to the upper floor of the central tower, and from here, to the lateral tower (once connected by a wooden footbridge).
In the countrysides not far from Aggius (but in territory of Tempio Pausania), in locality Li Parisi, you can visit the trilobed nuragh Izzana.
At the entrance of Tempio Pausania, coming from Palau, you will find the nuragh Majori.
In the territory of Luogosanto, near the tomba dei giganti (giants’ grave) of Lu Coddu Vecchiu, there is the nuragh of Capichera that dominates the valley below.
At the exit of Nuchis, in the road that leads to Calangianus, you will find the nuragh Punta Lu Nuracu. It has an uncommon gallery structure. Also close to Calangianus, on the Mount Di Deu, it is possible to admire a nuraghic construction of that kind, the nuragh Agnu.
