In the valley of the Tirso in S'Urbale 50 nuragich huts
The nuraghic village of S’Urbale, in locality Cuccuru Urbale (territory of Teti), is composed by more than fifty huts and it dominates the valley of the Taloro river. The inside diameter of the huts is considerable, often in the center there is a fireplace realized with the clay, material used also in order to isolate the walls (characteristic that distinguishes it from the nuraghic huts of the other sites). The cover was probably realized with branches and coppers. In the same territory, a little more far away from Teti, it is possible to visit also the village of Abini, an agglomerate of circular huts equipped with fencings for the reunions and the sacred pit. Very interesting one of the little bronzes uncovered during the diggings in this site: it represents a demon or a warrior with four eyes, four arms and a double shield.
Three hundred meters far from the sanctuary of San Mauro (Sorgono) there is the beautiful example of pentalobed nuraghe, that takes its name from the Saint venerated with great devotion by the whole Mandrolisai. Recently enclosed, is provided with two rooms and an inner scale that leads to the top, from which it is possible to see the highest points of the near hills, where were constructed numerous nuraghs (they are about thirty, but only a small part have come back to light).
