On the mounts of Oliena Tiscali and Sa Sedda 'e Carros villages
On the mountains of Oliena you will find many archaeological sites, among which we signal the famous nuraghic villages of Tiscali (so called from the name of the mount where thousands years ago it was constructed) and Sa Sedda ‘e Carros, nearby Sa Oche cave . There is not visible trace of nuraghs, however the site of Tiscali is among the most famous of Sardinia. On the Supramonte, in the Lanaitto valley, this limestone cliff is not very high but requires an hour on foot, before reaching the hidden nuraghic village in a cavity. Unfortunately, the site has been in large part destroyed by an underground yielding, that has nearly compromised all the structures of the numerous circular huts that composed it.
In the territory of Dorgali you can visit the two important nuraghic villages of Searra Orrios and Su Nuragheddu, beside the remains of nuragh Mannu (the last two are nearby Cala Gonone).
In the suburb of Nùoro, on the hill of Sant’Onofrio, it is possible to admire the mono-tower nuragh of Tanca Manna.
