
Palmavera, in Nurra nuraghic fortress with two towers and a village
The nuraghic fortress of Palmavera, not distant from Fertilia (road for Porto Conte), is the most important nuraghic site among those of Alghero's area. DIscovered at the beginning of the 1900's, the fortress shows the remains of two towers, and it is protected by a defence wall with pentagonal plant. Round about the ruins of some huts that constitute part of the village constructed around the end of the II millennium B.C. at the foot of the fortress.
The nuragh Lattara, not distant from the necropolis of Anghelu Ruju (in Alghero's area, on the road of Due Mari), has conserved for millenniums many objects and weapons, found by the archaeologists during the diggings of the past century.
