In Orroli an impregnable fortress and hundred huts

In Orroli (Sarcidano), near the Flumendosa lake, rises the nuragh Arrùbiu (or Orrubiu): a real fortress of about three thousand square meters to protect the surrounding territories, and a point of reference also for the nearby Nuraghic village of Su Putzu. The “tholos” cover is visible in the central tower.

Around the nuragh you will see the ruins of a hundred huts. During Roman domination, on the top of the tower, were gained the rooms for the pressing of the grapes produced in the zone (it is possible to understand it from the find of a press base in basalt and wine amphorae) and agricultural products: from the findings it may be sensed that these premises have been used by the population at least until the V century A.D.
