In Genna Arrele the first statue of Sarcidano

In 1973 in the archaeological site of Genna Arrele (in the territory of Laconi), the first statue-menhir of Sarcidano was found. Dozens of these particular menhir, which differ in shape and dimension, have been later uncovered. The largest part of these menhir are preserved, foin the civil Museum of Laconi . Some of those represent the warriors while some others have been engraved with women figures. Nowadays in Genna Arrele it is possible to admire the menhir with no figures on them. Not far away from Genna Arrele, in Genna ‘e Corte locality, there is a pit of trachyte blocks, the stones used to prepare the menhir.
