Luogosanto, a tomb with a 4 meters high funeral stele
During the nuraghic age, the dead were buried in the so-called giants tombs, which were constituted by a long and low corridor (created with blocks fixed in the ground) covered with stone slabs, through which it was possible to gain access to a larger semicircular zone, generally characterized by the presence of a stele in the middle. Near Luogosanto, not distant from the road that connects Arzachena to Calangianus, there is the giants tomb of the Lu Coddu Vecchiu, which is surrounded by a 4 meters high funeral stele and by smaller fictile stones. Even more fascinating is the tomb of Li Longhi (which is also known with the name of Li Muri), situated in an area where others tombs of the same period are located.
A giants tomb is visitable also in Santa Teresa di Gallura, in the locality of Lu Brandali, near the homonymous nuraghic village.
