Tempio, the magic of Carnival

Tempio (Gallura capital, together with Olbia), is the most famous and important Sardinian carnival venue. The carnival in Tempio boasts a very old origin: the character of GIORGIO, historical King of Tempio’s Carnival, bring us back to the pre-Roman age, as it has been proved that sacrifices were offered to thank this divinity for his favours. In this experience, beside participating to Tempio’s Carnival, we propose you a visit to the ethnographic museum of Luras, where you will have the opportunity to discover the legend of the "Femmina Agabbadora", a very relevant feminine figure of the community, who was in charge of children’s weaning and of the “finishing stroke” for the terminal ills. In conclusion, a typical lunch to taste the best local products, among which the inevitable Gallurese soup.

Pausania Inn Hotel

Location

Pausania Inn Hotel is in Tempio Pausania, 1km from the centre of the town. Tempio is 100km from Alghero, 85km from Porto Torres and only 44km from Olbia. Pausania Inn Hotel can be easily reached: once in Tempio, take the road to Palau (state road SS 133) and after 1km you find the entrance of the hotel.

There are many types of rooms at the Pausania Inn Hotel, designed to meet the needs of families, couples and singles, friends, and guests with disabilities. Some have a terrace or a small garden, others have a separate entrance. All rooms have private bathrooms, color TV, heating and air conditioning. The Superior room has a minibar and safe.

Restaurant

The Pausania Inn's restaurant - open to everyone all year round - favors the typical Sardinian and Gallura dishes (on request), while not forgetting the national and international specialties. You can taste the Sardinian gnocchi, the Gallura soup, the suckling pig seasoned with myrtle and delicious seadas (upon request). Each dish is carefully prepared by the expert hands of the chef.
