Hotel Castello

Ala Birdi was born 30 years ago as a centre for equestrian tourism. In time this facility became a tourist resort able to host up to 900 people. The Vacations Centre Ala Birdi - Horse Country is placed deep in a green pinewood of more than 400 hectares overlooking the peaceful Gulf of Oristano, only 100 metres far from an untouched and huge 10 kilometres beach.

Location

It is possible to arrive to the Ala Birdi Resort in a short time from the main ports and airports of Sardinia. From the port of Cagliari the distance is 95 km to be done mainly on the road SS131 and then exit at the intersection to Arborea. From the airport of Cagliari (Elmas) the distance is 85 km to be done mainly on the road SS131 and then exit at the intersection to Arborea. From the port of Olbia the distance is 180 km to be done mainly on the road SS129 up to the exit to Abbasanta and then on the SS131 with exit at the intersection to Arborea. From the airport of Olbia (Costa Smeralda) the distance is 180 km to be done mainly on the road SS129 up to the exit to Abbasanta and then on the SS131 with exit at the intersection to Arborea. From the port of Porto Torres the distance is 154 km to be done mainly on the road SS131 and then exit at the intersection to Arborea. From the airport of Alhero (Fertilia) the distance is 160 km to be done mainly on the road SS129 up to the exit to Abbasanta and then on the SS131 with exit at the intersection to Arborea.

58 wide rooms almost all with balcony, with all comforts: bathroom, direct telephone line, satellite TV, air conditioning and minibar.

Amenities

At the hotel there is the Reception office with a wide Hall, the Bar Il Mirtillo with a terrace facing directly to the swimming pool and the modern conventions centre (Ribot) which can hosts up to 400 people. Ala Birdi is opened the whole year round and we can find 3 restaurants, 4 bars , 2 swimming pools, animation staff, conference room, sport facilities (tennis, bowls, basket, five-a –side football, billiards, ping-pong, mountain-bike, archery , life path), a centre for equestrian tourism. In particular for horses lovers The Equestrian Centre gives them the chance of riding courses, according to the age and the skills, beautiful walks on the beach and one-day trips. Also, baggage deposit and wellbeing centre.

Restaurant

The Horse Country Club offers a wide variety of dishes, recipes and drinks of the traditional Sardinian and international cuisine. Simplicity, originality and quality of the local products, recipes upon request, to be taken at the restaurant, in pizzeria under a starlit sky or in the splendid atmosphere of a barbeque at the beach.
