I Mandorli Farmhouse

Situated only 5km from the beautiful sea of Ogliastra region, this farm house overlooks an enchanting side of Sardinia. Its premises are found in old cottages dating back to the end the 19th century and carefully renovated according to the typical Sardinian style. I Mandorli guarantees a very comfortable and quiet stay for those who love peacefulness and the wholesome cuisine. The surrounding area is rich in interesting sites (archaeological areas, natural beauties, the sea, the mountains of Supramonte, some caves, the "trenino verde"- a small train offering naturalist trips – a go-kart track etc) and close to this area a port and an airport are found. Thanks to all that and to the professionalism and warm hospitality of the owners and the staff, one can spend here some very pleasant holidays, also for long periods.

Location

The facility is found 5km from the village of Lotzorai, in the region of Ogliastra, and approximately 20km from the port of Arbatax.

Rooms

Surrounded by flowering shrubs and aromatic herbs, the 11 rooms of the farm house are set in some old cottages carefully renovated with the local traditional materials. They will make you spend some pleasant holidays in a unique place, where to enjoy also beautiful and magic nights under a sky full of stars. All the rooms have wonderful a veranda full of flowers or a terrace, from where one can admire the beauty of the nature and a unique view, and a bathroom. Minibar and air conditioning are available with extra charge (but not in all the rooms).

Cooking&Eating

The restaurant of I Mandorli has an imposing fireplace made of granite and juniper wood and a panoramic veranda where the guests can breathe the perfumes of flowers and aromatic plants and enjoy the tasteful specialties of Ogliastra region. The menu usually includes: Sardinian hors d'oeuvres with vegetables, salami and other specialties of the Sardinian tradition; first course with the local culurgionis (a kind of ravioli); the second course with Sardinian roast pork, roast or stewed lamb or sheep and other delicious specialties (such as sa trattalia, sa corda, etc.); finally, the sweets produced by I Mandorli, characterized by the typical Sardinian flavours and smells. And all that is matched with the most famous Sardinian wine, the Cannonau, and the meal cannot finish without a locally produced liqueur (myrtle liqueur, grappa, limoncello liqueur).
