On February 14, 2010, an interesting panoramic excursion to Monte Urtigu (Santu Lussurgiu) will be organized for the enthusiasts of nature : first, you will be able to observe rams and then you will assist to the Carnival of Santa Lussurgiu.
It is a course of about 10 kms or 3 hours, and no particular difficulty has been reported. Just think to bring with you your brogue shoes, your sandwiches ans of course some bottles of water.
After this course, you will be brought back to Santu Lussurgiu to assist to “Sa carrela'e nanti”, a run of knights within the village.
Depart from Cagliari at 08am (Agip Motel), and the return is set for 08 pm.
It is compulsory to take your own car.

On February 20 and 21, 2010, the Actores Alidos Company will perform on the stage of the Verdi Theater of Sassari the "Paristoria" play, written by Paolo Pillonca and directed by Gianfranco Angei.
"Paristoria" is the story of the people of Sardinia through old myths, tales and oral legends.

After the success of last November edition, the second part of "Traghetti di poesia" will take place in Cagliari, between the first and the third of February, and it will be directed by the poet from Milan Guido Oldani.
Within the elegant Spazio Search, situated in the basement of the Palazzo Civico, 3 evenings of readings, meetings and thoughts shared with Sardinian, national or international authors, will take place.
Organized thanks to the help of the Province of Cagliari and under the patronage of the city of Cagliari, the festival offers guests suchas Maria Luisa Spaziani, Elio Pecora, Ennio Cavalli (Premio Viareggio 2009) and Fuad Rifka, for a moment dedicated to the Middle-East.

On January 22, 2010, an important exhibition dedicated to comics and illustrations, called "Racconti di carta" was inaugurated within the cultural center for arts Il Lazzaretto of Cagliari.
The exhibition, organized by Giacomo Pisano and realized thanks to the contribution of the Assessorato alla Cultura del Comune di Cagliari, will be visible until February 28, 2010.
This exhibition contains the personal works of Stefano Obino and Daniele Serra, two Sardinian artists, and offers also other cultural appointments, from the workshop to the cosplay.
In order to better entertain the audience, different activities will be offered, such as meetings and debates.

From January 27 to 29, 2010, the Day of Remembrance will be celebrated in Gavoi.
The pupils from the city's school will able to listen to the testimonies of Uri Orlev, a Hebrew writer born in Warsaw, and who survived to the Shoah, and of Sarah Kaminski, a professor of modern Hebraic in Turin.
The last appointment, on January 29, 2010, at 06pm, with the conference entitled "La Shoah dei Bambini raccontata ai Grandi".
The meeting will be preceded by a tribute to the Hebraic music, the Kelmer, by the quartet Krochmalna.

On January 23, 2010, the photographic exposition "Estonia: un Paese moderno dal cuore antico nelle immagini di Andres Lumi" was inaugurated at the Centro d'Arte e Cultura IL Ghetto in Cagliari.
The exhibition will be visible until January 30, 2010.
Supported by the Estonian Embassy in Italy, by the Honorary Consulate of Estonia in Sardinia, and with the help of the Sardegna-Estonia Association and the Cultural Association Artècrazia, aims at promoting Estonia in Italy, and especially in Sardinia : an invitation to discover and travel in this modern country, which has also kept preserved its traditions.
30 suggestive images are presented on 3 different themes : environment, landscapes and people, interpreted with romanticism by the artist.

The "Adorazione dei Magi" of Sandro Botticelli, the "Adorazione dei Pastori" of Jacopo Bassano and the "Natività di Cristo" of Ignazio Stern are some of the paintings that can be admired.

Exhibitions>Iglesias>Until February 13,2010>Fanghi Rossi, exhibition of Riccardo Oi

Until February 13, 2010, it will be possible to visit in Iglesias, at the Giuseppe Frau Gallery, the personal exhibition of Riccardo Oi, called "Fanghi Rossi".
Organized by Barbara Martusciello and Pino Giampà, the exhibition will display a series of pavings, similar to those of Hollywood Boulevard, but realized with the red mud of the Iglesias region.
The red mud is the rest of the harmful minerals which are present in the area of Iglesias, especially in the Monteponi mine.
One of the Oi's objectives is showing that the red mud is really toxic even if it is one of the most visited and photographed sites of Sardinia.
Oi wants to make clear that the gallery is toxic, and would like it to be closed, as the toxicity is higher when the red mud is in an open-cast mine.
However, once these pavings realized, they lose this toxicity.
The exhibition is visible each day, from 06pm to 08pm.

On January 28, 2010 the sixth edition of the wedding fair will be inaugurated at the Fiera Campionaria Internazionale of Cagliari, under the name of "Fiori e Spose".

The fair will be installed within the I Pavilion and will allow you to find everything concerning the Big Day, from the more traditional stands to the more modern.

On January 16, 2010, the personal exhibition of the American photograph John Delaney was inaugurated in Su Palatu, in the city of Villanova Monteleone (Sassari), under the title of "I nomadi delle aquile reali".
The exhibition comes from a project which was realized in Kazakhstan, where the artist met an ethnic minority, who is still nomad and hunts with eagles, a traditional method today threatened by the progress, that little by little arrives in Mongolia.
The exhibition is visible until February 28, 2010, each day except on Mondays, from 04pm to 08pm.

Within the spaces of the "La Bacheca" Art Gallery of Cagliari, the "VII cielo" works of art was inaugurated on January 16, 2010.
It was a finalist of the 2009 Terna Award.
The exhibition is visible until January 26, 2010.
This is an installation composed by a room closed by transparent walls which contains the human life in a hyperbaric atmosphere.
The human body, which lies on the floor, is the central point of the composition: his respiration is generated by a ventilation mechanism, that filters the exterior air to reproduce inside the natural respiration mechanism, creating thus a link between the inside life and the outside reality.
"VII cielo" is the first work of art presented in the "La Bacheca" Art Gallery, thus it opened the new season of the Gallery.
The exhibition, thought and realized by the Gruppo Santissimi, composed by Sara Renzetti and Antonello Serra, is inspired by the relation between men and atmosphere, between the inside world and the outside world, between air and respiration.
The exposition is visible each day, from 05pm to 08pm.

On January 15, the eleventh edition of "Cagliari for Arts in Sardinia" was inaugurated in the Lazzaretto of Cagliari.
The aim of the exhibition, prepared by the Lazzaretto team and organized by Alessandra Menesino, under the patronage of the Assessor for Culture of Cagliari, is to promote and introduce artists who work in Sardinia.
The exhibition will be visible until February 14, 2010 and has as protagonists Erik Chevalier and Andrea Forges Davanzati, who live and work in Sardinia.
The first, born in Roma in 1957, is a painter, creator of installations, who experiments various photographic techniques.
For the exhibition, he presented a collection of ink jet printings entitled "walk on pass".
The second, born in Milan in 1963, concentrated his artistic searches on stainless steel sculptures.
Also, a group of Indonesian sculptors who recreates small aquatic organisms, is also displayed.
The entrance costs €3 (€2 on reduced price) and the visits are allowed from 9am to 13pm and from 16pm to 20pm, from Tuesday to Saturday.

After a3-year absence, Carmen Consoli is coming back to Cagliari on February 8 in order to introduce her last record, as part of her tour of the biggest Italian theaters.
Within the Lyrical Theater of Cagliari, the artist native from Catania, will offer an intense acoustical concert, during which she will be accompanied by Massimo Roccaforte and Santi Pulvirenti at the guitar, Puccio Panettieri at the drums and Marco Siniscalco at the double bass.
The concert will begin at 09pm and the ticket prices vary from €18 to €42.

On January 25 and 26, 2010, at the Verdi Theater of Sassari, the one-man show "Il profumo delle lucciole" of Paolo Villagio will be presented.
The humorist, native from Genoa, will share his personal experience, using the different phases of his career: from his job of presenter for Costa Crociere to his friendship with Fabrizio De Andrè, as well as the creation of his character Fantozzi and the collaborations with Fellini, Monicelli, Olmi and Lina Wertmüller.
The one-man show will begin at 09pm.

Today, at 07pm, the personal exhibition of Bob Marongiu will be inaugurated, under the name of "Périod Noir".
The artist, born in Switzerland, has always lived in Sardinia, after having studied scenic arts in Florence.
The exhibition, hosted within the Espace S&P di Suoni & Pause, situated via Savoia 19, in Cagliari, is dedicated to the artist's "black period", and is composed by 25 works on canvas.
Bob Marongiu has represented his habitual characters, but on a black background, that amplifies the bright colors of the foreground.
According to the artist himself, such paintings suggest that even in the hardest moments, there are always positive sides to be noticed.
The exhibition will be open from January 26, 2010 to January 31, 2010, from 07pm to 09pm, and the entrance is free.

Holy days > Monserrato > January 23 and 24, 2010 > Celebration of San Sebastiano

As each year, Monserrato wil celebrate San Sebastiano on January 23 and 24.
After having brought the saint in procession by all the streets of the village, the inhabitants will gather in the Church place, where will be lit a fire, in front of which they will dance, listen to music and taste typical sweets and local wines.
By the past, the tradition was to decorate the saint with branches of mandarins, that the youngest tried to make fall in order to have good luck all year long.
On the day after, it is common to look for live embers, to bring them for a benediction andto put them home.

The collective exhibition entitled "Grandi Maestri Sardi del '900 al Contemporaneo", organized at the Galleria Arte Spazio of Sassari, situated in Via Principessa Maria, will remain open until January 20, 2010.
80 paintings of the most important Sardinian artists are displayed : from Liliana Cano to Giuseppe Biasi, Carmelo Floris, Stanis Dessy ans Giuseppe Altana.
Also, the presence of works by Treccani, Giorgi and Butera will give the event a national importance.
Finally, the artists who are in permanent collection at the Galleria Arte Spazio will also be visible: besides Andrea and Giuseppe Bellino, who organized the exhibition, Gianni Serra, Antonio Pazzola, Giovanni Mattu and others will also benefit from the event.

On January 4, 2010 was inaugurated the first exhibition of the Association Morsi d'arte Or, entitled "Morsi Personali : the fear project", organized by Claudia Loi and Desiree Spadafora.
Until January 31, 2010, the visitors will be able to admire the photos of Marco Sanna, which will be displayed between Cagliari and Oristano.
Influenced by the contemporary artists and by the Fine Art photography, of which David Bourdeny and Ewan Fraser are 2 representatives, Marco Sanna has dedicated his work to the arts of the portrait.
With "the fear project", he offers a research on the fears and different states of mind.
The exposition will be visible in Oristano until January 31, 2010 at the Lola Mundo, Luky Bar, C&D caffè, Ottica Pispisa and Tribunal's bar.

Within the Alfieri theater and the Ridotto of the Massimo Theater of Cagliari, the manifestation dedicated to the women of Ciudad Juarez, a small Mexican village, situated at the border with the United States.
Ciudad Juarez is a sadly famous place, as since 1993, young Mexican women go missing without any trace, except when the abductors let the dead bodies reappear.
The program of the next events, which all begin at 09pm, is the following :

Tonight, January 8, 2010, at 09.30pm, is the beginning of the 2010 musical program of the cultural association Dromos.
The social center, situated in via Santa Lucia in Nurachi, province of Oristano, hosts the concert of the James Taylor Quartet, a British formation which offers Acid Jazz.
Guided by the original sound of its leader's Hammond piano, the James Taylor Quartet, with Robert Townsend at the saxophone, the singer Yvonne Yanney, Chris Montaque at guitar and Adams Betts at drums, will offer an explosive mix of soul, funk, jazz and R'n'B.

The 2009/2010 prose season of Nuoro will begin within the Eliseo Theater.
On January 16, 2010, Fama Fantasma Produzioni Teatro and Asti Teatro 30 present "Honour" by Joanna Murray-Smith.
The play, which has as a main theme the crisis within a middle-class couple, after various years of marriage, is directed by Franco Però and has as main actors Paola Pitagora and Roberto Alpi.
The play will begin at 09pm.
As for the first rows, the full ticket price is €16 and the reduced price is €14 ; and for the other rows, the full price is €14 and the reduced price is €11.

From January 8, 2010 to March 26, 2010, the second edition of «INCONTRI CON LA MUSICA: CULTURE A CONFRONTO » takes place in Cagliari.
After last year's success, the musical appointment returns to the Archivio Storico Biblioteca Generale e di Studi Sardi di Cagliari, situated in Via Newton 5/7.
The entrance is free for each concert at 21h00.
The festival begins on January 8, 2010 with “Andean Music” by the quatuor "Nazka", directed by Ector Quiroz.
It continues on January 22, 2010 with a tribute to De Andrè by the trio "Faber" : voices, guitar, accordions and double bass.
Other appointments are : on February 5, 2010, a tribute will be paid to the most important guitarist , "La chitarra classica: ricordo di Andrès Segovia", and on February 18, a musical conference will be held on memory of the Sardinian composer, "Ricordo Ennio Porrino".
On March 5, the audience will assist to a recital by the Romanian Rares Andreij Saghin, entitled "Il pianoforte tra classicismo e romanticismo", and on March 19, to a recital about environmental fables in Sardinia byIvo Paolucci, which is entitled "Sardinia and its legends", interpreted by Roberto Ingrosso, accompanied with launeddas and guitars.

Dona Flor and her two husbands : national preview in Cagliari

On January 6, 2010, the national preview of "Dona Flor e i suoi due mariti", free version of the novel of Jorge Amado, will take place in the Theater Massimo in Cagliari.
The representation, presented until January, 10, 2010, has as protagonist Caterina Murino, alias Dona Flor in the version of Emanuela Giordano.
"Dona Flor e i suoi due mariti" will be played every day, from January 6 to 10, 2010, at 21.00pm, with a double exhibition on January 8, at 17.00pm and 21.00pm.
The play, which is both hilarious and sad when it comes to the most hidden human desires, speaks about the incapacity of the protagonist to fully satisfy her important need of love with a one and only man: she needs two husbands who complement each other, one being sweet and considerate, the other showing a strong erotic power.
The troupe, composed by 7 actors, will meet the public on January 7, 2010 at 17.00 within the Sardegna Libri Bookstore, situated in the Corso Vittorio Emanuele in Cagliari.
The meeting will be hosted by the "Il Manifesto" journalist, Gianfranco Capitta.
Theater for young people : Capitani Coraggiosi 2010 in Pirri

Until the next February, 21, Cada Die Teatro presents, within the spaces of the Vetreria of Pirri, situated in the province of Cagliari, the 2010 edition of Capitani Coraggiosi, the theater season dedicated to young people.
Each Sunday, in the early afternoon, laboratories and other play activities, followed by an organic snack will be organized before the theater representation that will conclude the evening.
Also, during all the festival, thanks to the collaboration with the library, it will be possible to borrow a certain number of books.
On January 6, 2009, at 17.30, will be played Ivan Lo Scemo by the theater company Botti du Schoggiu.
The cost by representation is €5 whereas the season ticket is €20 for all the representations.
On January 6,17 and 24, 2009, the exhibitions as well as the other activities will be free.

A Friday of each month, in the Caffè Savoia, situated in Piazza Savoia, a book is presented, and on the next Tuesday, the cinematic version is showed in the Odissea Cinema, in Viale Trieste.
Here are the next appointments :
On January 22, the book "Zazie in the metro", written by Raymond Queneau in 1959, will be discussed, and on January 26, the eponymous film will be showed;
On February 19, the attendees will talk about "The Club Dumas" of Arturo Pérez-Reverte (1993), and on February 23, the film directed by Roman Polanski in 1999 will be showed;
On March 26, the "Dangerous Liaisons" by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, published in 1782, will precede the projection of the Stephen Frear's 1988 film;
On April 23, the Umberto Eco's classic "The name of the Rose" will be discussed and then, on April 27, the eponymous film by Jean-Jacques Annaud (1986) will be showed.
Hung by a thread : an exhibition of ceramics in Cagliari

On December 27, 2009, within the spaces of "Mk Spazio Cultura", situated at 9, Via Santa Croce in Cagliari, the personal exhibition of Marie Corte, a Cagliaritan ceramist, was inaugurated under the title of "Hung by a thread".
There are about 50 handmade ceramic creations which are displayed.
The artist got inspired by fairy tales, the story, the daily life and literature.
She also pays attention to the portraits and the personification.
Costumes and accessories were realized, or more exactly were handmade rebuilt, thanks to an important searching work.
The exhibition's soundtrack was also voluntarily chosen to create an atmosphere between dreams and reality.
The created puppets, from the fairies to Marie Antoinette, from the trapeze artists to Don Quixote, are accompanied with original texts of Valeria Cannas, where they tell their past mistakes and their future aspirations.
The exhibition is visible until December 31, 2009, from Wednesday to Sunday, from 17pm to 20pm.
The Circus Lidia Togni arrives in Cagliari

From December 23, to January 25, 2010, the "Circus Lidia Togni plus the Moscow Circus" sets in Cagliari, Viale Marconi.
The show, under a modern cloth big top, will be presented on a traditional ring as well as an ice ring, where will perform acrobats and dancers from Moscow.
On the traditional ring, the audience will be able to be entertained by the performances of the Latin American circus of Lidia Togni during a show that mixes styles and attractions from various schools of circus arts.
On the orchestra ring, Brazilian dancers and singers will bring life to frenzied South-American dances.
Also, during the show, elephants, horses and other clowns will entertain the audience whereas professional skaters and penguins will perform on the ice for the audience.
New Year in the National Art Gallery of Cagliari

In order to offer to inhabitants and tourists a cultural January 1, 2010, the Soprintendenza per i Beni Architettonici, Paesaggistici, Storici Artistici e Etnoantropologici of Cagliari and Oristano decided to exceptionally open the National Art Gallery, which is situated within the Museum citadel, in the Piazza Arsenale of Cagliari.
Thus, the city follows the national project of museums and other cultural sites' extraordinary opening for Christmas and New Year.
Inhabitants and tourists will be able to admire an exhibition about the “1900s Sardinian Paintings”, with works which were restored for a precedent exhibition within the Museo Sassari Arte in Cagliari.
Antonio Bellero, Mario Delitalia, Filippo Figari et Pietro Antonio Manca are some of the famous painters displayed within the Art Gallery.
The exhibition will remain open from 09am to 20pm.
The expected return of La Bohème in the Lyric Theater of Cagliari

In order to well conclude the lyric and ballet 2009 season of the Lyric Theater of Cagliari, one of the most famous Puccini's operas, La Bohème, returns to Cagliari after a 3-year absence.
The opera, directed by Giancarlo del Monaco, is produced in collaboration with the Badisches Staatstheater of Karlsruhe.
As top billings, we find Massimiliano Pisapia in the leading rôle of Rodolphe, as well as the young soprano from Sassari, Francesca Sassu.
2 groups of actors will alternate the different representations of La Bohème, which will be presented from January 8 to January 17, 2010.

The International Chamber Music Festival of Iglesias

The International Chamber Music Festival continues in Iglesias.
This year's eleventh edition will end on January 9, 2010.
The first performance is due on January 3, 2010 at 20pm, with the Mañasco Trio, composed by Gianluca Campi at accordion, Andrea Cardinale at violin and Alessandro Magnasco at the piano.
The festival is directed by the conductor Fabio Furia and will take place in the Sala Lepori, situated in Via Isonzo.

The exhibition of Morsi Personali by Giuseppe Bosich in the MAO of Oristano

The MAO (Morsi d'Arte Or) of Oristano welcomes until December 31, 2009 the Giuseppe Bosich's exhibition "Morsi Personali".
This is a touring exhibition of contemporary arts, organized as part of the promotion of contemporary arts in Sardinia.
The sites welcoming the event are the Lola Mundo, the Lucky Bar, the Tribunal's bar, the C&D Bar and a space of the Pispisa Ottico.
Bosich, painter, engraver and sculptor from Tempio Pausania, initiated the collaboration with the MAO with the "La cultura Morde Palazzo Boyl" event in Milis, a contemporary arts exhibition where some of the most active creators of Sardinia exhibited between December 2007 and January 2008.
Bosich, who now lives and works in Ghilarza, after having benefited from significant experiences in Milan and other top-level collaborations, is often priced in national and international catalogs.
Exhibition of Mirò in Carbonia

From December 5, 2009 to February 7,2010, within the Museo dei Paleoambienti Sulcitani,, situated in the Piazza Roma in Carbonia, occurs an exhibition dedicated to Mirò, a Spanish artist.
It is called "Miró. Le lézard aux plumes d'or".
The exhibition was organized by Mediterranea and Sistema Museo, with the patronage of the city of Carbonia and the Region of Sardinia, in order to transform this Museum into a national and international reference point concerning arts and culture.
The exhibition is visible on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 15pm, and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 10am to 18pm.
The entrance is included within the museum entrance.
Exhibition of Liliana Cano in Cagliari

From November 20, 2009 to January 31, 2010, within the San Michele Castle of Cagliari, it is possible to visit the watercolours exhibition by Liliana Cano, an artist from Sassari who got trained in the Academia Albertina of Turin.
105 works are displayed, inspired by the 5 books of Pablo Neruda’s “Memorial de Isla Negra”, the collection of poetry in which the Chilean poet reminds his childhood.
The exhibition is divided into 5 sections : one for each book of Neruda’s work : Donde nace la lluvia, La luna en el laberinto, El fuego cruel, El cazador de raíces, Sonata crítica.

Photographical Exhibition about the 1970s in Sassari

Until January 17,2010, it will be possible to visit en Sassari the exhibition called "Photographs of the 1970s.Daily experience and testimony", which aims at showing how were the 1970s thanks to photography.
The exhibition is set up within de Museum of Arte del Novecento e del Contemporaneo - Convento del Carmelo of Sassari.
About 200 photographs are displayed, almost all are representations of the 1970s’ everyday life by the artists, who contributed to define the 1970s as the more important years of the history of recent photography.
The Botanical Garden s crib

From December 10, 2009 to January 10, 2010, the appointment is set in Cagliari in order to visit the traditional botanical garden’s crib , which drags a lot of people each year.
The crib, realized by the gardener of the department of botanical sciences, has a free entrance.
However, a participation can be given in order to help the Convent dei Cappuccini of Sant’Ignazio da Laconi.
The holy representation, situated at the entrance under a beautiful "Ficus Magnioliodes", is realized with statues in terra cotta and huts in "bricks", thus, the crib well fits with the winter colours of the garden.
During Christmas holidays, the crib is visible each day from 08.30am to 13.30pm, except on December 25 and 26, and January 1st.
Artists Jewels

Until January 8, 2010, it will be possible to visit within the historic Teatro Civico di Castello in Cagliari, recently restored, the exhibition called "Artists’ Jewels. The artists interpret the jewel", which was inaugurated on December 5, 2009.
The exhibition, organized by the association Arteficio and by the Bartoli-Felter Foundation for Arts in collaboration with the city of Cagliari, offers the creations of 28 artists, who live in Sardinia or in Italia.
Besides tratitionnal precious materials, such as gold or silver, visitors will be able to see jewels made with new materials and new technologies.
At the end of the exhibition, the jewels displayed will be sold to the highest according to the value given by the artist, in aid of the Cagliari’s Red Cross.
Christmas in Sassari

“Viva Natale 2009” continues in Sassari on December 22 and 23, 2009, with the exhibition called "Angels' Christmas", organized by the Theater and Music Cooperative.
Today, in the Santa Maria in Betlem Church, the Gospel Concert « Voices of Deliverances » will take place, whereas tomorrow in the San Giacomo Church will be performed the concert called
“Il libro degli Angeli-La musica dei cieli”.
Also today, the Orchestra di Fiati della Sardegna will offer the "I luoghi della storia e della musica" Concert in the Santa Maria Bambina's small theater.
As for December 23 and 24, 2009, the emphasize will be put on the youngest, who will be able to listen to some fairy tales.
Indeed, tomorrow, in the Palazzo di Città, it will be possible to listen to "Le fiabe e le filastrocche sui diritti dei bambini", and on the following day, in the small Train called "The Small Train of the fairy tales", the S'Arza Troupe will present "Il burattino di legno" as well as "Frizzi, lazzi & schiamazzi" in the Azuni Place.

The historical center and the streets of the medieval city will be animated with Christmas markets , exhibitions, concerts and other activities for the youngest.
Among the events, there are : the Christmas Market on Piazza Sella, from 10am to 20pm until December 24, the artistic medieval crib in the Salvaterra Castle until December 23, the international festival of street artists within the streets of Iglesias until December 22, the living medieval crib of the 25, 26 and 27 of December (church of San Salvatore) and, to finish, the traditional midnight bath on the first of January in the beach of Funtanamare.
New Years Eve in Sassari with The Almamegretta

This year, Sassari will celebrate New Year’s Eve with the Almamegretta, a rock band from Naples, created in 1991.
For the fourth consecutive year, Sassari will offer a great choice of free events, and hopes to draw once again more than 20.000 persons.
The band, whose music is a mix of reggae, dub, napolitan and Arab songs, will perform on the stage situated in Piazza Italia, with Raiz, its historic singer.
Since 2003, when Raiz left the band, it will be the first time they perform together on stage.< br/>
The ex leader Raiz has accepted to perform with his ex mates, Gennaro Tesone and Gianni Mantice, for a unique date : the Sassari New Year’s Eve Concert.
However, the current band’s lead singer, Marcello Coleman, will also be present and will sing with Raiz.
So is the concert, organized by the "Ragazze Terribili" in collaboration with the city of Sassari, an impossible-to-miss event for the fans of Almamegretta as well as for those who want to have a great time on New Year’s Eve in Sassari.
Before the concert, the attendees will be able to watch an exhibition by the "Eventi Verticali" actors, who will perform 4 scenes of their "Quadro" event : indeed, from a structure hung on top of the spectators, the actors will realize acrobatics when telling their text.
Also, the "All Sun Rock’Jive Quartet", a rock band from Cagliari, will perform on stage. They will offer a program of Rock and Roll, Shake, Twist, Swing and Jive.

At last, in order to well celebrate New Year’s Eve, and for the first time in Sassari, the attendees will be pleased with an amazing firework display, tasting the Panettone and the sparkling wine offered.
The Sa Pertusitta, Sa Zuada and Su Cabude festival

In Bultei, in the province of Sassari, each 30th of December, the Sa Pertusitta, Sa Zuada and Su Cabude festival is celebrated.
Traditionnal agricultural festival, it begins with a solemn mess, with choirs of the Goceano, during which are blessed the country breads, Sa Pertusitta, and the pastoral ones, Sa Zuada e Su Cabude.
For the occasion, the bread is specially prepared by the village's inhabitants, who scrupulously follow the ancestral recipe, passed between the peasant generations.
Sa Pertusitta is a focaccia, a sort of bun, decorated with images of pastors and ewes in relief.
On the other hand, Sa Zuada is a bread decorated with images of oxen and plows, whereas Cu Cabude is a round pie, filled with marmalade and prickly pears.
The festival wants to remind an old custom according which on the New Year's Eve, the family first male born had to pass by all the villages houses, as early as possible, to beg for pieces of Sa Pertusitta, Sa Zuada and Su Cabude breads.
Once is finished the collect, the head of the family broke the bread on the boy's head, and during the meal, crowned him with the Su Cabude pan, in form of crown; in order to give him luck for the entire year.
The Intrecci exhibition

On December 15, 2009, in Cagliari, the "Intrecci" exhibition was inaugurated at the "Villa Muscas" Center for Rural Culture, situated in Via Sant'Alenixedda.
It will end on January 10, 2010.
Supported by the Caravelle cultural association, under the patronage of the Cagliari's Assessor for Culture, the event is aimed at promoting the Sardinian identity through the hand-crafted work of Priami Pili, native to Pauli Arbarei.
Some of the most significant works of the artist are displayed within the Center, especially her handmade and hand-embroided shawls.
The embroideries are principally symbols of the nature or symbols of the everyday life, such as ears, roses, butterflies and other birds, and are very visible with their bright colors on the black shawl.
Traditions and modernity are the characteristics of Priama Pili's creative work, who substituted fleece by silk, but respecting the old embroideries techniques she learned from her grandmother, who was a spinster in Marrubiu.
Besides, she decided to mix traditional material, such as cotton or velvet, to silk yarn or gold and silver thread, giving a high quality to her creations.
Christmas cribs 2009 Exhibition

On December 8, 2009 was inaugurated the eighth edition of the Christmas Cribs Exhibition, organized by the Serramanna's Modellismo & Hobby Club and realized thanks to the Culture Assessor of Cagliari.
It will be visible until January 10, 2010 at the Communal Center for Arts and Culture Il La zzaretto.
This year, the exhibition is dedicated to the memory of Tore Pintus, who had always participated to the past editions with his creations.
The exhibition is composed by a hundred cribs, realized by the pupils of the region, or by some cultural associations or enthusiasts from Cagliari and its province, the Medio Campidano, the Sulcis Iglesiente and the region of Oristano.
In addition to the traditional standard cribs, it will be possible to admire some examples built with different materials.
Some of them are made of objects found in the nature, such as rocks, stones, branches, pine cones, leaves and other seashells.
On the other hand, other cribs were created with recyclable materials, such as chips, plastic, glass, paper, pasta, polystyrene or tissues...
Some cribs are composed of wooden or rocky characters, whereas other were created with clay.
The Nativity, as for it, was painted on curtains or wood.
The exhibition is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9am to13am and from 16pm to 20pm.

Imagination Sardinia

On this Friday 11th of December 2009 was inaugurated in the Galleria dello Sperone (a covered alley of the Saint Remy Bastion) of Cagliari, the exhibition “Imagination Sardinia”, that contains various collections of Sardinian clothing, jewels and accessories.
This event was organized with the help of Sardegna Ricerche.
The exhibition Imagination Sardinia is the result of an innovative project sponsored by Sardegna Ricerche, entitled “clothes between modernity and tradition”.
The clothes and accessories displayed are the result of the work of the various artisans who participates in the initiative.
However, the guiding principle was to get inspired by the island's textile tradition, creating clothes that a contemporary audience would easily wear.
The exhibition remains open from the 11th to the 20th of December 2009, each day, from 10am to 13pm, and from 16h30pm to 21pm.
The entrance is free.
New-years Eve in Olbia: Laura Pausini Live Concert on the 31/12/09

In order to well welcome 2010, the city of Olbia invited the last Latin Grammy Awards winner : Laura Pausini.
The singer will arrive in Olbia with all her staff and usual stage and equipment to perform a show as she was in Milan or Paris, except that the show, organized by Rg Music, is totally free and opened to everyone.
For her show, a huge stage with a 20-meters screen will be set up in the Molo Brin of the port of Olbia in order to allow all the crowd to well listen to her.
The event will be hosted by Luca Gentilini, a Radio Internazionale deejay and at midnight an amazing firework will be displayed.
However, for the moment, it is not well stated when the singer will perform : before or after midnight.
This year, the organization of New-Year's Eve will cost a minimum €400.000 to the city of Olbia, nonetheless 40,000 are expected to come to Olbia.
Foreign visitors will especially come from Spain, where she is so successful, and from Germany, from where the flying company Air Berlin is organizing flights towards Sardinia for the numerous German fans of Laura Pausini.
Besides, the town is also organizing for the 1st of January 2010 an exhibition of Beppe Dettori, the singer of Tazenda and for the 2nd another live concert from Adika Pongo, a group that interpret music of the 1970s and 1980s.
Also, as soon as December 18th, 2009, Launeddas players and other artists will entertain people in the streets of Olbia.
99 click +1.Photos:an amazing story

On the 11th of December was inaugurated exhibition "99 click +1. Fotografie, storie di incanti", presented by the Fund Giov-Anna Piras from Asti, at the Comunal Center for Arts and Culture Il Ghetto of Cagliari, situated at18, Via Santa Croce.
The exhibition, set up with the help of Cagliari’s assessor of Culture and realized in collaboration with the consortium Camù, is opened until January 30, 2010, before being transfered to London.
This event has an international fame, as proven by its recent success when it was displayed at the Salle des Fêtes in Paris. br/>
99 click+1 is a trip towards the memory of the XXth century as well as an adventure to the heart of the story of photography, in order to explore its characteristics, its doubts and its amazingness. The collection 1 click, really amazing, principally comes from the Fund Piras and from other international organizations.
100 photos, among the most suggestive and prestigious of the 1900s, are shown, 100 true and real icons, allmost all vintage, in the sense that for most of them, it was the first time they were stamped, always from their original negatives.
The entrance costs 3 euros, 2 euros on reduced price and is free with the Karalis Card.
